- The director confirmed that it is an entirely original story.
- Social media users had called it a remake of action-thriller Sarkar.
Bollywood megastar Salman Khan’s much-awaited Eid release, Sikandar, is not a remake or an adaptation of any film but an entirely original story, as confirmed by its director, AR Murugadoss.
Following the release of Sikandar’s official teaser last month, social media has been abuzz with comparisons. Some users have drawn parallels between the high-octane action film and Prashanth Neel’s Salaar, starring South Indian superstar Prabhas, while others speculated that it might be a remake of Thalapathy Vijay’s action-thriller Sarkar.
However, putting all speculation to rest, AR Murugadoss issued a statement clarifying that Sikandar is an entirely fresh concept. “This is a completely original story,” he affirmed. “Every scene and every frame of Sikandar has been designed and executed with authenticity, offering a fresh narrative and experience.”
The director further emphasized, “It’s not a remake or adaptation of any existing film.” He also highlighted the film’s distinctive musical composition, stating, “An essential part of the film’s originality is its stunning background score, crafted by the immensely talented Santosh Narayanan. His music perfectly complements the film’s energetic tone and vibrant visuals, adding an emotional depth that enhances every scene.”
Apart from Salman Khan in the lead role, Sikandar boasts an ensemble cast, including South Indian sensation Rashmika Mandanna as his love interest, along with Kajal Aggarwal, Anjini Dhawan, Prateik Babbar, Sharman Joshi, and veteran actor Sathyaraj. The action-packed entertainer is produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
Scheduled to release in theatres this month, Sikandar is set to coincide with Eid-ul-Fitr 2025, adding to the festive celebrations for Salman Khan’s fans worldwide.
