Mustafa murder case: Authorities intensify crackdown against Armaghan – HUM News

WEB DESK: Law enforcement agencies have intensified their crackdown on Armaghan and his accomplices, the prime suspects in the kidnapping and murder of Mustafa Amir. The prosecution department has assigned key investigative tasks, with a special public prosecutor issuing detailed guidelines for the probe.

As per the directives, all items recovered from Armaghan’s possession — including illegal weapons, walkie-talkies, digital safes, and dual identity cards—are to be sent for forensic analysis without delay. Investigators have also been instructed to scrutinize the activities of Armaghan’s close associates and register cases where necessary.

DHA security officials and the landlord have been asked to provide details regarding any unlawful activities linked to the accused. Authorities will also assess the actions taken by DHA officials and the landlord regarding Armaghan’s alleged illegal operations.

Local intelligence units from Gizri and Darakhshan police stations will be consulted to determine how long Armaghan had been involved in these activities while the investigators have been directed to interrogate his father and verify his criminal record.

The probe will examine any potential links between Armaghan and banned organisations, as well as possible involvement in terrorism, terror financing, money laundering, and other illicit activities. Sensitive agencies will be approached to assess whether Armaghan’s associates have connections with banned outfits, drug dealers, or anti-state groups.

The investigation will also retrieve bank accounts, phone records, and travel history of both the accused and the victim. Officials have been instructed to obtain phone numbers used for ransom demands in Mustafa Amir’s abduction, while the suspect’s phone, along with the victim’s mother’s phone, will be included as case property.

A related case has also been registered in Hub and authorities have been asked to clarify the purpose of a letter sent to SSP Hub regarding the case’s transfer to Karachi.
