Rain, snowfall forecast for upper Punjab, KP; hot weather persists in Karachi – HUM News


WEB DESK: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain in upper Punjab and Islamabad from today, while snowfall is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Meanwhile, Karachi is experiencing a rise in temperatures, with daytime weather expected to remain hot and dry. The PMD has predicted that temperatures may reach up to 38°C, while the minimum recorded temperature stood at 19°C.

According to the forecast, scattered rainfall is likely in parts of Kashmir and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, and Mandi Bahauddin are expected to receive showers, while rain has also been forecast for Mianwali, Khushab, Gujrat, Sialkot, and Sheikhupura. Thunderstorms accompanied by rain are likely in Lahore and Sargodha. Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding areas could experience both rain and light snowfall.

Cloudy weather and a drop in temperatures have been reported in Murree, Kotli Sattian, and Kahuta, with rain and snowfall expected in these areas. In response, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert, advising citizens to avoid unnecessary travel.

Intermittent rain will continue in Peshawar and its adjoining areas, with further showers expected in the next 24 hours across the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The PMD has also forecast snowfall in the upper regions of the province.

Authorities have urged residents in affected areas to take necessary precautions, particularly in regions prone to landslides and flooding.
