WEB DESK: Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone series— the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra—has achieved a significant milestone, selling over one million units in South Korea just 21 days after their global release on February 7, 2025.
This impressive feat makes the Galaxy S25 series the fastest in the company’s history to reach this mark in its home market.
Previously, the record was held by the Galaxy Note 10 series, which took 25 days to reach the same sales figure. The Galaxy S25 series, however, surpassed that by four days, underscoring its strong demand in South Korea.
A report from Korea’s ET News highlighted the main factors driving the sales: the phone’s sleek design, high performance, and advanced Galaxy AI features. Another contributing factor was the introduction of the Galaxy AI Subscription Club, which offers an easier and more affordable way for users to upgrade their devices.
Of those purchasing the new Galaxy S25 series, around 50 per cent opted for the top-tier Galaxy S25 Ultra model. The most sought-after colours for the Ultra were Titanium Whitesilver and Titanium Silverblue. Meanwhile, for the Galaxy S25 and S25+, Silver Shadow and Ice Blue emerged as the favourites.
The popularity of the Galaxy S25 series is also growing in Pakistan. Notably, the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 512 GB variant is priced competitively at Rs440,000, nearly Rs100,000 cheaper than the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s 256 GB variant. This price point is also only Rs5,000 higher than the previous Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 256 GB model.
However, despite the relatively lower price in comparison to other premium models, the Galaxy S25 Ultra remains a high-end device, making it inaccessible for many Pakistanis. The majority of buyers in Pakistan tend to opt for smartphones priced below Rs100,000, so local sales figures are unlikely to match those in other markets.
