ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police on Wednesday arrested a man for allegedly attacking his wife within the limits of Phulgran police station.
According to a police spokesperson, the complaint against the accused namely Nadeem Hussain was lodged by his father-in-law.
The complainant told the police that his daughter was severely injured after being attacked with an axe by his husband.
Acting promptly, the police registered case No. 66/25 and launched an investigation.
“Utilizing modern technical and forensic methods the Phulgran Police team successfully apprehended the accused.”

The police have also arrested seven outlaws including five drug peddlers involved in different criminal activities during the last 24 hours, the spokesperson informed further.
He said the Islamabad Police teams in Sumbal, Tarnol, Khanna, Kirpa and Sihala took legal action against accused involved in possessing illegal weapons and drug peddling activities. Some 2070 gram heroin, 300 gram ice and two pistols with ammunition were also recovered from their possession.
SSP Operation Muhammad Shoaib Khan said that Islamabad Police is actively working to ensure the safety of citizens lives and property in the federal capital, emphasizing that no elements will be allowed to disrupt citizens peace. Protecting the lives, property and dignity of citizens is the Islamabad Police top priority.
He urged citizens to report any suspicious activities to the relevant police station, or emergency helpline Pukar-15 to help make the city crime-free through cooperation between the police and the public.
Meanwhile, a bus of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIU) rammed into a motorcycle near Faizabad underpass, killing a woman at the spot.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when the speeding bus hit the motorcycle, causing the woman to fall under its wheels. She succumbed to her injuries on the spot.
Her husband, who was riding the motorcycle, miraculously survived the crash, while the bus driver fled the scene immediately after the incident.
