Veteran Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari has been awarded the Award of Recognition at a special ceremony in the UK Parliament for her outstanding contributions to the entertainment industry and social advocacy.
The event was hosted by MP Yasmin Qureshi and organised by the British Asian Society and Samara Events UK. It was attended by prominent figures, including MP Afzal Khan, A. Haq (Chairman of the British Asian Society), Maria Soraya, Amal Hafeez, and various community leaders, artists, and admirers of Bushra Ansari’s work.
In her speech, Bushra highlighted the global influence of Pakistani dramas, emphasizing their role in promoting Pakistan’s culture, traditional attire, and the Urdu language. She said, “It is a privilege to receive this honour in such a prestigious setting.”
She dedicated the award to fellow artists and storytellers, acknowledging their hard work in showcasing Pakistan’s cultural heritage worldwide. MP Yasmin Qureshi praised her career, stating, “Bushra Ansari has not only entertained but has also served as a cultural ambassador, inspiring generations and introducing Pakistan’s rich artistic traditions to the world.”
The evening celebrated Bushra’s iconic television roles and her lasting impact on multiple generations. She now joins Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa among Pakistani celebrities recognised by the UK Parliament for their contributions to global culture.
