Srinagar Highway Islamabad closed due to law and order situation


ISLAMABAD: Due to the law and order situation Srinagar Highway in Islamabad has been closed for traffic from Zero Point till Serena Hotel from both sides till further notice, according to the traffic police advisory.

Besides this, all entry and exit points to the Red Zone are opened except Serena Suharwardi Road, the advisory issued by the traffic police said.

The traffic coming from Faizabad can use Jinnah Avenue.

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has recommended that citizens allocate an extra 20 minutes for their commute to avoid inconvenience caused by the designated traffic routes.

New rain spell predicted from tomorrow

Citizens traveling from Club Road to Aabpara and the Red Zone should use the Faizabad Loop and take the Jinnah Avenue Underpass to access Margalla Road, according to the advisory.

The traffic coming from Bara Kahu should use Club Road, Faizabad and Express Highway.

Those going to Bara Kahu from Aabpara should use the Shakarparian road.

According to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), traffic on Srinagar Highway is anticipated to slow down due to the implementation of the special route.

To facilitate smoother travel across the city, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Zeeshan Haider encouraged citizens to utilize underpasses and connected service roads. He also assured that ITP personnel would be deployed at various locations to assist and guide commuters.
