Security tightened around Adiala Jail


RAWALPINDI: Police have tightened security around Adiala Jail and set up additional checkpoints in the wake of the search operation.

Police have installed containers on the roads leading to Adiala Jail. Vehicles passing through the road during the operation are being allowed to pass after being searched.

Police also stopped the car of Imran Khan’s sister, two kilometers away from the jail. Aleema Khan also showed the police the court orders to meet the PTI founder.

It should be noted that today is a day for family meetings in Adiala Jail. In this regard, Qasim Khan, Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan and Noreen Niazi have left for the jail to meet incarcerated former premier Imran Khan.

ASAD QAISER GRANTED PROTECTIVE BAIL

Meanwhile, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) has ordered that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser not be arrested until April 8.

The PHC heard a petition filed to provide details of the cases of PTI leader and former speaker of National Assembly Asad Qaiser. The PTI leader appeared in court and said that he has been going to perform Umrah every Ramazan for the past 10 years. He said that he intends to go for Umrah this year as well. Therefore, the date of the case should be given after Ramazan.

The court remarked that they ask the Attorney General’s Office whether the report has come or not. To which the Deputy Attorney General said that we should be given time and we will submit the report soon.

The court ordered Asad Qaiser not to be arrested while granting protective bail till April 8.

Later, while talking to the media outside the court, Qaiser said that he condemns the incidents happening in Kurram. He said that restoring law and order is the job of the state.

Qaiser said that the Afghan policy should be made anew, and all stakeholders should come together to make the new policy.
