ISLAMABAD: The weather across Pakistan will experience a huge shift as cold and dry condition dominate most regions on Saturday after days of the mercury rising.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued forecasts for regions across the country, with particularly frigid temperatures expected in the hilly areas during the morning and night hours.
Weather in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan
In the northern regions, particularly in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), the weather is expected to remain extremely cold and partly cloudy. Light rain and snowfall are expected in isolated locations.

The Met Office highlighted similar conditions will prevail in Azad Kashmir, where extremely cold and partly cloudy weather is expected.
Islamabad, Rawalpindi weather
Residents in the capital should brace for a cold and dry weather pattern for today, with gusty winds contributing to the chill. The temperature in Islamabad is expected to hover around 3 degrees Celsius, with a 22 per cent chance of rain.
Rawalpindi and surrounding areas will experience similarly conditions.
Balochistan weather forecast
Moving to Balochistan, the weather is expected to remain cold and dry in most districts. However, there may be partly cloudy conditions with gusty winds and light rain at isolated places, particularly in Quetta, Qilla Abdullah, Zhob, Mastung, Kalat and Chagi.
The temperature in Quetta is forecasted to be around 4 degrees Celsius, with a 50 per cent chance of rain.
In the southern regions of the country’s largest province, such as Nokkundi, Sibbi and Jiwani, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy with temperatures ranging from 11 degrees Celsius to 15 degrees Celsius. Nokkundi is expected to have a temperature of 12 degrees Celsius, while Sibbi is forecasted to reach 12 degrees Celsius, as well.
Meanwhile, Jiwani will see similar conditions with a temperature of 11 degrees Celsius.
Punjab
In Punjab, cold and dry weather is expected across most districts. Murree and Galiyat are expected to experience very cold and partly cloudy conditions.
The temperatures in major cities such as Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Chakwal, Faisalabad, Sargodha and Lahore are expected to range from 5 degrees Celsiuso 11 degrees Celsius, withvarying chances of cloud cover.
In Chiniot and its surrounding areas, recent rain contributed to a drop in temperatures, leading to a notably cold atmosphere. Meanwhile, Raiwind and nearby regions are experiencing dry spells accompanied by cold winds.
Sindh
Meanwhile, dry weather is expected to prevail in most districts across Sindh. Cities like Nawabshah, Hyderabad and Karachi will experience sunny conditions, with temperatures ranging from 10 degrees Celsius to 16 degrees Celsius.
Karachi is expected to reach 16 degrees Celsius while mercury in Nawabshah will peter out at around 11 degrees Celsius.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, cold and dry weather is expected in most districts, with very cold conditions in the northern areas during the morning and night.

Isolated light rain or snow may occur in Chitral, Dir and surrounding areas. The temperature in Abbottabad is expected to be around 1 degree Celsius, while Dera Ismail Khan will see a warmer 10 degrees Celsius.
