NEPRA announces electricity price cut for February bills
In a relief for electricity consumers, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced a reduction in electricity prices by over Rs1.22 per unit for one month. A notification confirming the price cut has been issued.
Who Will Benefit?
The price reduction applies to most consumers but excludes:
- Lifeline consumers
- Electric vehicle charging stations
- Consumers using more than 300 units
Price Reduction Breakdown
- DISCOs (Distribution Companies): Rs1.22 per unit reduction
- K-Electric Consumers: Rs1.23 per unit reduction
This price adjustment is part of the monthly Fuel Price Adjustment (FCA). The reduction for DISCOs is based on December’s fuel cost, while for K-Electric consumers, it reflects November’s fuel price variation.
The revised electricity rates will be reflected in February electricity bills, providing temporary financial relief to many households across the country.
