COAS, JCSC meet foreign dignitaries, including Bangladesh’s naval chief


RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Naval Staff of the Bangladesh Navy Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hassan called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi on Friday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during this second high level visit by Bangladesh Armed Forces in the recent past, both dignitaries engaged in discussions on matters of mutual interest, the prevailing regional security environment, and avenues for enhanced bilateral defence and security cooperation.

Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hassan commended Pakistan’s significant contributions to regional peace and stability and in particular appreciated holding of upcoming Multinational Maritime Exercise Aman 2025 and conduct of Aman Dialogue.

He also acknowledged Pakistan Armed Forces’ pivotal role in fostering peace and stability in the region.

Admiral M Nazmul Hassan also called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza at Joint Staff Headquarters, Rawalpindi.

The discussion centered on evolving regional environments, mutual strategic interests, including maritime collaboration and explored ways to enhance bilateral defense cooperation. Both military leaders underscored the importance of collaboration in promoting peace and stability.

He commended the professional conduct of Pakistan Army and acknowledged their sacrifices in fight against terrorism.

Earlier, upon arrival at Joint Staff Headquarters, a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent presented guard of honour to the visiting dignitary.

COAS meets Maldives’ Chief of Defence Forces

Earlier in the day, Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) of the Maldives Armed Forces Major General Ibrahim Hilmy called on COAS General Syed Asim Munir at the GHQ.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, including bilateral defence cooperation and regional security dynamics, were discussed in detail.

Both sides expressed satisfaction over the enduring bonds of brotherhood and friendship between Pakistan and the Maldives, underscoring their shared perspectives on key regional issues.

Recognizing the evolving security landscape, the two military leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening and revitalizing bilateral ties, with a view to enhancing collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

He lauded the Pakistan Army’s exceptional professionalism, dedication, and contributions to regional stability.

Hungary’s State Secretary calls on CJSC

Meanwhile, Hungary’s State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Defence Tamás Vargha called on General Sahir Shamshad Mirza at Joint Staff Headquarters.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed evolving regional dynamics and emphasized the importance of exploring new opportunities for mutually beneficial collaboration in defense and security domains between both countries.

The visiting dignitary praised the Pakistan Armed Forces for their professionalism and sacrifices they made while fighting terrorism.
