QUETTA: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif reaffirming government’s commitment to Balochistan’s development said the terrorists are enemies of peace, progress, and prosperity of the province.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting in Quetta on the law and order situation in Balochistan.
He was briefed on the security situation, progress on development projects, and other key matters.
Addressing the meeting, PM said terrorist elements do not want the people of Balochistan to be prosperous or its youth to be educated.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to Balochistan’s development, stating that cowardly attacks cannot shake Pakistan’s resolve for the province’s progress.
Terming Balochistan’s development a top priority of the government, the PM said employment opportunities are being created for the province’s youth and a special quota has been reserved for Balochistan’s students to study agriculture in China.
PM Shehbaz also praised the armed forces, police, district administration, and other institutions for their efforts in maintaining peace in Balochistan. He said that the military leadership and government are working day and night to ensure a peaceful Balochistan.
Earlier on Monday, the PM arrived in Quetta and was received at the airport by the Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir and other senior officials.

Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Federal Minister for Defense Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Minister for Energy (Power Division) Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, National Assembly Member Jamal Shah Kakar, and other officials accompanied the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister also enquired about the health condition of the security forces’ personnel who were injured while bravely fighting against terrorists in a recent operation in Kalat.
PM has wrapped up his visit to Quetta and has departed for Islamabad.
