Beyoncé is supporting the victims of the tragic Los Angeles fires. On January 12, her non-profit organization, BeyGood, announced on its official Instagram channel that it is donating $2.5 million to the LA Fire Relief Fund.
The caption read, “Los Angeles, we stand with you.” The fund will help families who lost their homes in the Altadena/Pasadena area and ensure that nearby churches and community centers have enough resources to support those affected by the wildfires.
The Grammy winner’s foundation urged people to visit their official website to show their support. The L.A. County Medical Examiner recently reported a rising death toll since the devastation began on January 7.
The Medical Examiner reported that 16 people died in the Eaton fire zone, while eight others died around the Palisades area. The LA Fire Department stated that the Palisades fire has burned more than 23,000 acres of land, with 11% containment.
In addition to the “Single Ladies” hitmaker, celebrities like Tika Sumpter, Halle Berry, and Eva Longoria have donated to relief funds. Longoria donated $50,000 to the organization “This Is About Humanity” and shared an emotional video on Instagram.
