Cold wave grips country, temperatures drop below freezing point in Islamabad – HUM News


ISLAMABAD: A cold wave will persist in most parts of the country, while temperatures have dropped below freezing point in Islamabad, according to the latest weather update provided by the Meteorological Department.

According to the Met Office, the country’s northern parts will remain under intense cold conditions. Snowfall and rain are expected in some regions of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Galiyat and Murree.

In Punjab, fog is expected in the plains. Sargodha, Faisalabad, Jhang, Multan, Khanewal, and Dera Ghazi Khan will experience dense fog. Fog is also anticipated in Okara, Sahiwal, and Bahawalpur.

In Sindh, Karachi is expected to remain dry and cool at night, with minimum temperatures possibly dipping as low as 10°C over the next 24 hours.

While areas like Sukkur, Kashmore, Jacobabad, and Mohenjo Daro may face reduced visibility due to fog.

While in Balochistan most districts are gripped by severe cold, with temperatures dropping to -1°C.

The Meteorological Department has forecast that the cold wave will persist for the next two days and has advised the public to take necessary precautions.
