Naran shuts down for tourists amid heavy snowfall – HUM News


ISLAMABAD: Naran, the most visited scenic tourist spot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has been closed for tourists due to heavy snowfall and blocked roads.

Deputy Commissioner Mansehra has advised tourists to avoid heading to Naran, Babusar Top, and upper regions due to unsafe routes amid heavy snowfall.

Instead, visitors can explore accessible sites like Shogran and Balakot, he has advised.

Snowfall in Batakundi, Naran, and Babusar Top has made roads slippery, posing risks to vehicles, according to the DC.

Weather update: Islamabad, surrounding areas to remain cold and dry

Authorities stated that Babusar Top is entirely closed, and travelers attempting to proceed beyond Batakundi have been turned back for safety.

The Deputy commissioner has advised the tourist who are planning visits to northern areas this winter season to call the tourism department’s 1422 service to confirm weather and road conditions before traveling.

Emergency helplines are also active for assistance and updates.

Temperatures in Naran Kaghan Valley drop below freezing point due to which Naran valley is closed for tourists during the winter season.

Naran tourist points are open from early March till early November.
