In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), including for Pakistani citizens, it is mandatory to drive only with a valid driving license. Driving with an expired license can result in fines or legal action, so it is essential to renew your license on time to avoid any penalties.

According to the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) guidelines, residents aged 21 and above are eligible to apply for a full driving license. Residents under 21 can apply for a probationary driving license.

To renew your Dubai driving license, the following documents are required:

  • For drivers under 21: Original valid Emirates ID.
  • For drivers 21 and above: Original valid Emirates ID and an eye test as per the required category.

Driving License Renewal Fees (as of Nov 2024)

  • For drivers under 21: 100 AED, plus 20 AED Knowledge and Innovation fees. If using the mobile truck service for the eye test and renewal, an additional 500 AED is charged.
  • For drivers 21 and older: 300 AED, plus 20 AED Knowledge and Innovation fees. Similarly, an additional 500 AED is charged for the mobile truck service.
