LONDON: Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has become the latest PML-N member to face harassment and threats while visiting the UK.
According to a video footage that has gone viral on social media, an unidentified man started verbally abusing the defence minister as soon as he started to disembark at the London ground station.
The man not only used abusive language but also threatened the minister with a “knife attack”.
Confirming the incident, PML-N sources said that the incident happened a couple of days ago.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the incident and the threats made against Defence Minister Khawaja Asif during his visit to London.

He stated that such “brutal behavior is unacceptable in any civilized society.”
The Prime Minister added that issuing open threats of violence reflects criminal intent. He urged London authorities to apprehend and punish the individual responsible for hurling such threats.
This is not the first time PML-N leaders and former judges have been harassed in London during their visits.
Recently, former chief justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa’s vehicle was attacked by PTI supporters at London’s Middle Temple.
