Australia’s cricket squad has welcomed wicketkeeper-batter Josh Philippe for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan. Philippe was added to the team after Cooper Connolly, the young Australian batter, sustained an injury during the third ODI against Pakistan in Perth.
Connolly’s injury occurred when a fast delivery from Pakistan pacer Mohammad Hasnain struck his left hand, forcing him to retire hurt. According to Cricket Australia, he suffered a fracture to his fourth metacarpal. Connolly is scheduled to meet with a specialist on Monday to discuss his recovery.
Philippe, who recently played in a One Day Cup match, will join the Australian squad in Brisbane as they gear up for the three-match T20I series. The first game is set for November 14.
