Pakistan’s political leadership condemn Quetta blast – HUM News


QUETTA: After a blast at the Quetta railway station killed at least 24 and injured another 50 on Saturday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and others condemned the attack.

Shortly after the blast occurred, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack, expressing sorrow over the loss of life. He ordered for immediate medical assistance to the injured, and requested an incident report from the Balochistan government.

Similarly, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Sarfraz Bugti, also condemned the attack, stating that “terrorists are targeting innocent civilians.” “We will pursue the terrorists and bring them to justice,” Bugti said, adding that “we will eradicate terrorism from Balochistan.”

The Federal Minister of Information, Atta Tarar, condemned the blast, stating “we are determined to eradicate terrorism from the country.” He added that “we will take every necessary step to eliminate terrorism from the nation.”

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz offered her condolences, adding that “terrorists who attack unarmed civilians will certainly face their end.” Governor of Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail stated that “there is no room for such incidents in a peaceful city like Quetta.” He ordered for immediate and strict action to be taken against the perpetrators of the attack.

“All available resources will be used to prevent such incidents,” the governor stated. He also instructed for immediate medical attention to be provided to the injured.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed sorrow over the horrific events, as he prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. The Interior Minister offered his sympathies to the families of the deceased, after he condemned the perpetrators, stating “terrorists who target innocent people do not deserve any leniency.”

Following a call with Sarfraz Bugti, Naqvi said that “together, we will take joint actions against terrorism.”

“The federal government will provide all possible assistance to the Balochistan government in the fight against terrorism,” the Interior Minister remarked.

Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto also expressed sorrow over the tragic attack, as he offered condolences to those affected saying, “we share in the grief of the affected families.”

He went on to say that the “PPP’s stance on the war against terrorism and extremism is the voice of the nation.”
