LAHORE: The police had an encounter with a group of five armed robbers in the Green Town area on Saturday, in which all five died and two police officers were injured.
The five robbers, including four men and one woman, were killed after police conducted a late-night raid on a house in which the group were.
Sources claim that the suspects then took refuge in a nearby compound and began to open fire on the police. CCTV footage shows one of the group members firing his gun. The ensuing firefight resulted in the death of all five robbers.
Station House Officer (SHO) Green Town Khurram Shahzad was injured in the fire, as well as a constable named Asif. Both were taken to Jinnah Hospital.
Police stated that the members of the gang had been looting locals and drawing cash from banks while wearing police uniforms.
