Mohsin Naqvi departs for crucial ICC board meeting in Dubai
Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is attending a pivotal ICC board meeting in Dubai today. Before departing from Lahore, Naqvi inspected construction work at Gaddafi Stadium, a key venue for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.
During the meeting, Naqvi is expected to discuss Pakistan’s preparations for hosting the 2025 Champions Trophy and hold talks with Indian Cricket Board officials. Pakistan’s Chief Operating Officer, Salman Naseer, has represented the country in ICC meetings since October 19, and today’s final session is critical for Pakistan’s hosting role.
Naqvi will update the ICC on the renovation efforts at Gaddafi Stadium, Karachi’s National Bank Cricket Arena, and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. ICC delegations have already expressed satisfaction with the progress, and the tournament’s budget has been approved, solidifying Pakistan’s readiness.
The Champions Trophy will occur from February 19 to March 9, 2025, with matches in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. Lahore will host seven games, including the final, while Karachi and Rawalpindi will also stage key fixtures, ensuring an exciting tournament for cricket fans.
