ISLAMABAD: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) strongly rejects the unfounded accusations leveled against its President, Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh, by a disgruntled and frustrated member of the previous ruling group,Statements by non-elected and unrelated persons reveal their nefarious motives, these accusations come from a failed leader who suffered a resounding defeat in the recent FPCCI elections after four years of underwhelming and mismanaged leadership.
In the past 10 months, President Atif Ikram Sheikh has achieved milestones that the previous group couldn’t match in their entire tenure. Among these historic achievements are:
The SCO Business and Investment Conference:
Held in Islamabad with the participation of 8 member states, this event marked a significant diplomatic and economic engagement for Pakistan.
The 1st FPCCI Excellence Awards at Aiwan-e-Sadr: A prestigious event, graced by the President of Pakistan, which recognized outstanding achievements across various sectors, elevating FPCCI’s stature.
Representation at the SCO Heads of States Meeting:
A momentous occasion where Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh represented not only the business community of Pakistan but also all SCO member countries before prime ministers and government heads of the SCO.
These are achievements that reflect the dedication and dynamic leadership of Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh, finally earning FPCCI the respect it deserves within government circles after four years of stagnation.
It is important to remind critics that during their tenure, the FPCCI’s Capital Office was in shambles, with elected Vice Presidents sidelined and unelected individuals mismanaging affairs.
Misuse of funds and deteriorating management were at their peak. The individual now making false accusations has a history of fraudulent activities and even served time in jail, making him a questionable source of criticism.
Under the leadership of Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh, the staff of FPCCI is more motivated than ever, working diligently to achieve the organization’s goals.
The false claim of moving the FPCCI Head Office to Islamabad is simply a fabrication; records of FPCCI’s Executive Committee Meetings show that it was the opposition group that initiated such discussions, only to be stopped by the current leadership.
We openly challenge the critics to present a report of their activities during their four years in power and compare it with the achievements under Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh’s leadership. They have nothing substantial to show and resort to baseless accusations out of jealousy and resentment.
Individuals like the one accusing Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh are a negative influence on society—unwilling to accept their failures and the success of others. Rather than engaging in productive work, they focus on spreading false narratives.
The business community stands with Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh and will continue to support his visionary leadership. InshAllah, he will remain steadfast against these fabricated claims and continue to serve the business community with unwavering dedication.
