ISLAMABAD: Chinese Premier Li Qiang held a meeting with National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq here today, and discussed ways to further enhance bilateral ties. The Chinese premier is visiting Pakistan to attend Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.
The discussions emphasised the importance of strengthening parliamentary relations between Pakistan and China, with both leaders agreeing to expand trade cooperation as well.

During the meeting, Ayaz Sadiq said that China remains a trusted and sincere friend. He highlighted Pakistan’s pride in its enduring friendship with China and stressed that the SCO forum would promote regional cooperation and stability.
Both leaders also acknowledged the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the energy sector, and other joint projects that are pivotal to the partnership between the two nations.
They agreed on enhancing cooperation in the fields of technology and the digital economy, which will yield mutual benefits.
