LAHORE: The Punjab Home Department has launched a crackdown on bogus arms license dealers, registering cases against nine dealers following orders from the Interior Secretary of Punjab.
The First Information Report (FIR) was filed under the Punjab Arms Ordinance 1965 after a formal inquiry was completed by the department.

According to the inquiry report, the accused were involved in preparing fraudulent documents and selling arms on fake licences. The Interior Secretary stressed that the sale of weapons through bogus licences is a grave offence, and directed that strict legal action be taken against those responsible.
The Interior Secretary reiterated that a zero-tolerance policy is being enforced regarding the issue of fake arms licences and illicit dealers. The Home Department is currently conducting a thorough review of arms dealers’ documents across the province to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
