PTI again announces protest at D-Chowk on October 15 – HUM News

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced a full-scal protest at D-Chowk in Islamabad on October 15.

An emergency meeting of PTI’s political committee was held in the absence of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

Following the meeting, PTI’s Secretary of Information Sheikh Waqas Akram, issued a statement confirming the protest at D-Chowk.

The PTI’s protest comes at a time when the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit is being held in Islamabad from October 14 to 16.

Akram said that all organisational leaders and wings, from the central committee to the regional level, have been instructed to begin preparations for the upcoming protest at D-Chowk.

The statement said that the district-level protests in Punjab have been canceled to focus on preparations for the “peaceful protest” at D-Chowk. A new date for the Punjab protests will be announced later, he said.

The political committee’s statement criticized the “mandate thieves” and “illegitimate rulers” for their disregard for the constitution and law, stating that they remain committed to cruelty and brutality.

The statement also expressed concern over PTI founder Imran Khan’s safety, stating that his life, health, and security were being deliberately exposed to serious threats, and that he has been deprived of all basic and human rights in jail.

Earlier, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) instructed the federal government and local administration to designate a specific area for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to carry out their protest.
