The famous Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has shared her experience with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), a condition that makes it difficult for her to concentrate on a single task for long periods of time. The actress highlighted the effect of ADHD on her career in a recent interview, saying, “I cannot spend more than 45 minutes on a makeup set.”
Due to her ADHD, Alia explained, she tends to work quickly and frequently pushes people around her to keep up with her pace. Reflecting back to her wedding day, she remembered her conversation with her makeup artist: she was asked to allow two hours for preparation, but she insisted, “I can not give you even an hour; I want simple makeup.” Her difficulty staying still for extended periods of time has influenced her approach to streamlining her appearances at events.
The symptoms of ADHD, a neurodevelopmental disorder, include hyperactivity, impulsivity, and distractibility. Attention span issues and difficulty organizing tasks are common challenges for individuals diagnosed with ADHD. ADHD is known to continue into adulthood, affecting about 2.5% of adults worldwide, despite being typically linked to childhood.
