Pakistani singer Sanam Marvi is gearing up for an exciting collaboration with Indian music legend AR Rahman. During her appearance on Zabardast With Wasi Shah, Marvi shared her enthusiasm, saying, “There is no dream that has not come true. There is one dream that is going to be true. I have to work with AR Rahman Sb and this dream will soon be fulfilled.”
When asked if she was in talks with Rahman, Marvi confirmed, “Yes, Rizwan is in talks with him,” referring to a team member who’s handling the discussions.
Marvi, who is only the second Pakistani artist to win the UNESCO Award after Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, described receiving the award out of 80 global artists as a moment of great happiness. She also mentioned her favorite times spent with Abdia Parveen, saying those moments were always special to her.
AR Rahman, a two-time Academy Award winner and five-time nominee, is famous for his major influence on modern Indian music. With over 150 million copies of his music sold, Rahman’s impressive catalog includes over 100 film soundtracks and albums in multiple languages.
