Amendment to Punjab Motor Vehicle Rules 1969

The new policy is part of an amendment to the Punjab Motor Vehicle Rules 1969.

According to CTO Amara Athar, this amendment designed to save citizens valuable time and ensure a smoother, more efficient process for obtaining a driving license.

“Candidates who fail both the sign and road tests can now retake the test after 15 days,” CTO Amara Athar stated. This change expected to alleviate the frustration of long waiting periods that many candidates previously faced.

Maintaining Transparency and Merit

CTO Amara Athar emphasized the importance of maintaining transparency in the driving license process, noting that all test videos, including those for both road and sign tests, are recorded and securely stored.

This measure ensures that the system operates on merit, providing every candidate with a fair and unbiased chance.
