Renowned actor Durefishan Saleem has called for accountability following the deadly Karsaz car accident involving Natasha Danish Iqbal, the prime suspect. A recent chemical examination confirmed the presence of the banned drug “ice” in Natasha’s urine sample, with the report set to be presented in court.
The accident, which occurred on August 19, involved Natasha, the daughter-in-law of the prominent Gul Ahmed business family, crashing her car into multiple vehicles on Karsaz Road in Karachi. The collision resulted in the death of a father and his daughter, while injuring four others. Natasha appeared intoxicated and dizzy in videos from the scene, further fueling public outrage.
Durefishan Saleem took to Instagram, emphasizing the need for consequences for drug use and criminal behavior. Her post read, “Hold each and every human who does drugs in any form accountable for their actions.” CCTV footage of the accident showed Natasha attempting to flee the scene after overspeeding, leading to the fatal collision with the father and daughter.
The case, registered at Bahadurabad police station, is pending in court. Natasha Iqbal was placed on judicial remand for 14 days on August 21. Initially, her lawyer claimed she was mentally unstable, but she was later declared “mentally fit” by the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) Department of Psychiatry.
