Earlier this week, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman declared a ‘historic nationwide shutter-down strike’ for August 28. This strike is set to protest against the high electricity bills, unfavorable agreements with Independent Power Producers (IPPs), and the excessive tax burden placed on salaried individuals and traders.
