Carrying lit torches in hands, the members marched demanding justice for a 31-year-old trainee doctor who was murdered and raped inside her college on August 9.

India’s top court taking urgent cognizance of the case of Tuesday constituted a national task force to recommend provisions for improving the security and safety of medical professionals.

However, the protesting doctors said they would not budge till their demands were met.

A police volunteer has been arrested for the crime and the federal police have taken over the investigation.
