Zardari message for International Terrorism Victims Day – HUM News


ISLAMABAD: On the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to Victims of Terrorism, President Asif Ali Zardari addressed the ongoing impact of terrorism on Pakistan.

He acknowledged the loss of thousands of citizens and security personnel over two decades of conflict with terrorist groups.

In his speech, the former First Gentleman referenced the deaths of the late Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and other political and religious leaders.

He also noted the substantial economic toll Pakistan has endured for decades due to terrorism, resulting in billions of dollars in losses.

Zardari criticised external forces allegedly supporting terrorism and sending militants to Pakistan. He stated that Pakistan has been relentless in its continued efforts to combat terrorism.

The president pointed to the country’s security forces’ ability to dismantle terrorist networks as a success.

He also called for increased international cooperation, including better intelligence sharing and addressing the root causes of extremism.
